Wonderful Weekend x 2

For the first time ever, I took a quick husband/child-free weekend getaway with friends. I had a great time. But more importantly, so did Matt and Riley. (Which hopefully means I can get away again some time in the future.)

Here are photos from Matt and Riley's Saturday morning excursion to the waterfront.

The Haircut

Riley has been longing for long hair. ("Like the mermaid," she says.) But given my inability to comb/style hair, I was not keen on the idea.

So after some serious negotiations/bribery, Riley got a haircut. And a popsicle. And three new Berenstain Bear books. That girl has serious negotiation skills.

The haircutter convinced me to give Riley bangs. Which means we can actually see her face now.

And after all that whining about not being able to take decent pictures, I did manage to take one of her new haircut that wasn't blurry, had good lighting, and was free of hair in the face.

The problem?

The kid.

For the life of me, I can't seem to snap a decent picture of Riley anymore. All my attempts are either poorly lit, blurry, or there's hair in her face. ('Cause the kid never stops moving.)
