Chip Off the Old Block

Here's a shocker: I've got the world's worst sweet tooth.

I'd hoped I wouldn't pass it to Riley by :

1. (Somewhat) limiting my sweets consumption during pregnancy. (Assuming peanut m&m's don't count as sweets...)
2. Keeping all sweets from her until her first birthday.
3. Offering her stuff like clementines and cottage cheese more than cookies and chocolate.

Another shocker: It's not working.

Case in point: Sunday afternoon,* Riley & I made oatmeal raisin chocolate-chip cookies. The same cookies that, back in my days as a working stiff, always made my co-workers pretty darn happy. They made Riley pretty darn happy, too.

And then they made her CRAZY,** especially when I limited her to two spoonfuls of dough and three cookies.***

Uh yeah, the girl likes her sugar.

*Yes, I wear pajama bottoms on Sunday afternoons.
**By crazy I mean whiny, demanding, and generally cranky.
***C'mon, that's not overly strict, is it?

putting the KitchenAid on the floor huh? I hadn't thought of that/can't believe the cord reaches....Elliott has started pushing a kitchen chair over to the counter and standing up to watch the kitchenaid all on his own! pretty cute!

You must be a really good (and patient!) mom to let her help make cookies! When my kids are in the kitchen trying to "help" it ends up with flour and water all over the place, and me vowing I'm never letting them help again! Geez, that's terrible to amit!

And who DOESN'T wear pajama pants Sunday afternoons??? Goooooo PJ's!

So where in your post is the cookie recipe?

Ooh, yum. As a co-working-stiff who enjoyed those cookies, I can't say I blame Riley for her "craziness." Please post recipe... :) I'll trade you for Brad's chocolate chip banana bread!

Sweet tooth? I don't believe that for one second!

That's not too strict considering she hadn't had any sweets until one. I am sure she loved it - they sound delicious.
