The Executive Branch of Parenthood

The first day of preschool was a raging success. Except the teacher requested that Riley wear shoes that don't fall off on the playground. (Unlike these.)

So after school, we went shoe shopping, where Riley learned a lesson in government: Request ridiculous shoes like this, and mommy exercises absolute veto power.
