In January, I posted a list of dumb, random things I wanted to do this year.
Here it is November, and I'll be honest: most of them just aren't gonna happen. (Europe funds, for example, got spent on a cross-country move, a new home, and neurologist bills. And the triathlon? Same excuse—packing, moving, and hospital visits kind of occupied tri season. Oh, and anyone got a souffle pan I could borrow?)
But I *finally* checked a second item off my list: I ran a half marathon today!
I didn't break any records, but I did survive all 13.1 miles—including the last five in torrential downpours—with enough energy left to chase Riley around all afternoon. Records schmecords. That alone is sweet success!

That's awesome. Congrats! What an accomplishment.
wow! i am impressed! if i could make it once around the track it would be a miracle! i can't even imagine 13+ miles! you are awesome!!!! isn't it amazing how we never seem to get the things done that we *want* to do? it seems like there is always something more important to do. i guess life is all about compromises and about adjusting our goals and expectations. can't wait to see what your goals are for next year and how many you get to check off! i think mine may be something like "take a shower 99% of days. make sure my carpet is visible 85% of the time." :)
You rock! I'm so jealous.
I think you look a little too happy running...
You're lucky that your body is holding up. As soon as I decided to start running again and training for a race, my knee started acting up on me. Congratulations!
Great job! You are awesome!
Hooray for Kathryn! I'm so impressed!
Way to go! Is there any way to transfer your ambition, positive attitude, and determination to others? I could you a good dose or two!
Way to go Kathryn! Keep the triathlon on your list for next year-Marc and I are big fans!
