The ONE thing I did right today.

Riley's got a fever and a runny nose. Again. Which means The Toddler From Hell has returned with a vengeance, bringing with her tantrums, crankiness, and a new favorite word: a high-pitched, five-syllable "NO!"

Under normal circumstances, I can handle this with relative ease. But when TTFH refuses to nap? That's when we enter survival mode. Survival 'til bedtime.

Except bedtime didn't work.

I breathed a sigh of relief when TTFH went down, as usual, without a hassle. But 15 minutes later, she wailed. And wailed and wailed.

I debated whether to let her wail or let her out. Instead, I tried an alternate tactic. One that hasn't worked in, oh, 21-odd months.

I rocked her to sleep.

TTFH is quite sweet when she's sleeping.

Wish me luck tomorrow.

She used to be cuddly. For a few days.

Oh! She is so tiny and precious!!! Look at all that DARK hair! How sweet! I have one of those TFH today, wait! make that TWO of them today! although, technically hannah is now a pre-school age child. Ainsley is all over the place and teething and cranky. She cried all night last night. How sweet that Riley let you rock her to sleep tonight. There is nothing better than the feeling of a sleeping baby in your arms.

Sounds like our house last night. It was the baby, not the kid, though!

I still rock Alex to sleep at night...I know it's crazy, but he's my baby! Rocking a baby to sleep is soothing for a mama.
